Inviting modern spaces: Sammamish Library by Perkins+Will Architects

Great news for the people of Sammamish, Washington – a new library can be visited by those who love research, reading, learning or simply inspiring architecture. The Sammamish Library features a meeting room, a cyber bar and teen area overlooking the nearby Civic Plaza. All the programs of the building were carefully designed to meet the necessary standards and offer visitors growing opportunities in many areas: social, learning, inspirational values.

Designed by Perkins+Will Architects, the new library’s main reading and storage area is enhanced by skylights and clerestories that draw in natural light through transparent and translucent glass, composing a fantastic modern space. The large reading area featuring a gas fireplace with concrete finishes overlooks the Olympic Peninsula and gathers beautiful views of the Seattle skyline, creating a perfect place to indulge in the luxury of study. Wood was used to highlight some key design elements like the large columns in the reading room or the meeting room’s walls and ceiling. Visit the library to get a complete vision and enjoy the time spent within the beautifully designed spaces.
