New York’s most illustrious chefs gathered to pay homage to Thomas Keller this week, as he was presented with a lifetime achievement award by The World’s 50 Best Restaurants awards.

Chefs Daniel Humm of Eleven Madison Park, Eric Ripert of Le Bernardin and French chef Laurent Gras attended a luncheon at Keller’s Per Se restaurant Monday to honor the man described as a “true colossus” of the gastronomic world who “revolutionized” American cooking.

Per Se holds the No. 6 position and is the highest ranked eatery on Restaurant magazine’s World’s 50 Best Restaurants list. It also holds three Michelin stars.

Keller was named the lifetime achievement award winner earlier this spring. Meanwhile, the James Beard Foundation bestowed a similar honor on Wolfgang Puck this year.
