Daily Dream Home – Toda House, Japan

Today we have a special house to present as the daily dream home – Toda House by Kimihiko Okada. This spectacular home is located in a residential part of Hiroshima, Japan and displays a fantastic futuristic architecture. Overlooking the Inland Sea and Miyajima in the distance, the house’s structure is made of different platforms that shape the modern interior spaces. Wanting to get more views from above the neighboring houses roofs, this residential construction took an interesting form.

The owner challenged the architects to construct a safe, contemporary home that would respond to a few requests – to consider security issues, seeing that the house is located at the end of the residential area, to leave enough space for a future plan to extend the home with a small shop and to overlook the beautiful scenery, gathering as many views as possible. This made the architects lift the residence off the ground and offer the interiors an almost transparent feel, flooded with natural light. An exceptional interior courtyard/skylight ensures that the owner enjoys the best of contemporary architecture and technologies.
