Elegant interior design borrows the charm around it, so it was natural for this Parisian apartment to borrow the city’s charming details. Captured within the walls, the glamorous elegance of the city becomes part of the owner’s lifestyle. The 915 square feet apartment known as “The Yacht” is a stunning top floor dream home composed by French interior designer Frédéric Flanquart. Located in a building on the Parisian “Grands Boulevards”, this modern apartment displays a subtle ship-like design that also inspired its name.
A large entrance leads to the spacious living room and narrow, elegant kitchen/dining overlooking the city on one side and the private zone on the other. Folding around the corner, the dreamy dining space is especially beautiful at night – I can’t help but imagine a romantic candlelit diner cantilevering over bright city lights. Natural light during the day accentuates the fascinating details:
“Positioned on an angle, the entirety of the Yacht bathes in natural light, creating a wide variation of lighting tones throughout the day. The warmth of the Perigord Walnut furniture is therefore enhanced, working in elegant harmony with the oakwood flooring. Noble and refined materials such as Baccarat Crystal, full-grain leather and Macassar Ebony were used during the renovation of the apartment, creating an elegant and contemporary environment. Chrome steel and Burgundy Stone add a hint of masculinity, whilst the play of soft lighting brings a final touch of calm and serenity to this unique location.”
