Today’s dream home shows us how luxury speaks from behind old walls in an re-interpreted architectural design seen in South-West London. The Skinner Trevino House is a recently renovated 1890′s Victorian house spreading over 1,200 square feet. This transformation from a gloomy old English house into a light-flooded modern collection of spaces arranged in an open floor plan is described by London-based studio Luis Treviño Architects as an act of luxurious customization:

A semi detached late Victorian house on a wide street in a leafy neighborhood, where the existing house lacked natural light and suffered from the design of the very gloomy and highly compartmentalized plan – but with a great potential. The interior was stripped out, the back extension demolished, the house was gutted, half of the original stair recovered and the other half newly designed to reflect the new addition to the loft extension, adding more space than ever imagined possible.

A glass staircase floods the interiors with natural light, alongside skylights and glazed walls stripping away the darkness and revealing a comfortable seat to nature’s spectacle. The front facade cleverly hides the contemporary spaces composed of natural materials flowing from inside out giving continuum to the indoor/outdoor space. Skylights in the bedroom transform the former closed space into a heaven among treetops, inviting you to daydream.
