Daily Dream Home – East House

An Australian dream home should respond to its environment – this particular East House employes passive-solar energy to offer its inhabitants a comfortable living environment all year round. Designed to reconfigure the original 1990s brick house into a modern, peace-offering residence, the East House showcases an inspiring set of spaces adorned with timber screening. Built to accommodate  the needs of the modern lifestyle led by the professional couple who have lived in Byron Bay for 10 years after relocating from Sydney, this architectural design is part of the portfolio of Australian Built-Environment Practice.

Located in Byron Bay, Australia, this spectacular residence hides its true face from indiscreet eyes. Its beauty lies in the placement of naturally-lit open spaces right by the beach. Engaging the owners’ hobbies in a decorative way, the house shows how yoga, surfing, cooking, music, and gardening can be gathered in a modern display of architecture and interior design.
