Renault has reopened its flagship store on the legendary Champs-Elysees shopping street in Paris.

L’Atelier Renault has been closed for the past six months for an intensive refurbishment of the famous store, which boasts one of the most desirable addresses in Paris and welcomes two million visitors every year.

At the reopening on July 2, the French automaker unveiled several new attractions for the store, which offers visitors a chance to see the brand’s cars up close and learn more about the technologies used in the vehicles.

Its first season will showcase the entire Z.E. (Zero Emissions) range to the public, including the all-electric Fluence and Twizy, which are set to launch in Europe over the next 12 months.

A new “visual universe” has been added for guests, featuring a sound system and LED screens, although the mezzanine floors, suspended walkways and merchandising boutique which were present in the previous store have been retained.

Renault has also significantly revamped the restaurants, offering a bar, restaurant and mezzanine lounge area, with a glass facade which offers views over the Champs Elysees.

Creations by pastry and chocolate chef Arnaud Larher, who trained at Fauchon with Hermé, are now also available from the store.

Surprisingly for a city centre street, the avenue des Champs Elysees is remarkably popular with car brands — Peugeot, Citroen, Mercedes-Benz and Toyota all have outlets along one of Europe’s most famous tourist attractions.
