The former home of the late Hollywood actor has relisted for $29.95 million. John Barrymore bought the estate in Beverly Hills, Calif., originally built for director King Vidor, in 1927 and lived there until his death in 1942.

Known as Bella Vista, the California estate had been owned since 1992 by director Tony Scott, who died in 2012. The ‘Top Gun’ director purchased the property for $279,545.

The 10,000 square feet Spanish-style estate includes five-bedrooms, two guesthouses, an octagonal living room, a study plus a fully paneled library, a Bavarian-inspired pub with lovely redwood tree-trunk floor, and, above the master bedroom, a space that in Barrymore’s day was an opium den.

The outdoor grounds compliment the gracious style of the interior with winding paths, gates, fountains, a pool with waterfalls, and beautiful established gardens with lush foliage.

Scott added a four-car underground garage to the estate for his vintage motorcycle and Porsche collection.

Hilton & Hyland’s David Kramer is managing the $29.95 million dream home listing, located at 1500 Seabright Place in the posh Beverly Hills.
