After months of rumor and speculation – would it appear in Monterey or L.A.? – French automaker Bugatti finally made it official, their next supercar will be unveiled at the 86th Geneva Motor Show in March of 2016 and it will be called Chiron. Very few people have seen it yet, however, Bugatti did give us a hint to its appearance when they showed off the above Gran Turismo concept earlier this year.

Louis Chiron, the car’s namesake, has always been closely associated with Bugatti. The legendary Monaco-born driver won the 1931 and 1932 European championships driving for the French company, and finished first in the 1931 Monaco Grand Prix in a Bugatti Type 51.

With the introduction of Chiron, Bugatti will continue to produce the world’s most powerful, fastest, most luxurious and most exclusive production super sports car. Reports are that horsepower is up to 1,500 from the 1,200 made by the Veyron it replaces. It is expected to reach a top speed of over 250 mph. And, while it hasn’t been announced, pricing is rumored to be $2.5 million.

Bugatti has been showing prototypes of the Chiron privately to potential owners and claims to have 100 orders already. Given the limited numbers in which they produce their cars, you might want to get your deposit in now before they’re sold out.
