With the festive season around the corner, luxurious fragrances are also getting a festive makeover! Guerlain has unveiled the new limited edition Shalimar Indian Nights by Maison Gripoix. The French perfume house, among the oldest in the world, has teamed up with Maison Watersperger and Maison Gripoix to offer the fragrance in an exclusive bottle. The large 1.5 liter bottle is the brand’s first attempt to offer Shalimar in such an outsized packing.

Shaped out of dark blue glass created by glassmakers from Waltesperg, it is created on the model of the classic Shalimar flacon, whose facets highlight its beauty and grace. The Maison Gripoix team upped the ante by ornamenting the bottle with specially designed neckpiece created to glamorize the neck of the bottle. It features many dark blue glass pearls strung together with 24 carat gold. The stunning necklace is lined in two lines and adorns the limited edition perfectly. The bejewled fan-shaped bottle holds Guerlain Shalimar Indian Nights by Maison Gripoix as perfume extract blending bergamot, iris, jasmine, rose, tonka, vanilla and opoponax.

According to the house of Guerlain, the 1.5 liters of extreme sensuality is available on the official website of Guerlain. Only 40 pieces of such majestically designed edition of Shalimar Indian Nights by Guerlain are offered for a price of $11,800 each.

More about the legendary Shalimar fragrance-

Four centuries ago, in India, Emperor Shah Jahan fell hopelessly in love with Princess Mumtaz Mahal. He had the enchanting Gardens of Shalimar built for her and dedicated the Taj Mahal to her as well, one of the seven new wonders of the world. This incredible tale sparked the imagination of Jacques Guerlain, who created Shalimar, the first oriental fragrance in history, in 1925.
