Just being Richard Gere’s guest already sounds scrumptious.  But if you’re planning a visit to charming Bedford, NY to stay at his eight-room luxury Relais & Chateaux property, the Bedford Post Inn, your dalliance is about to be that much more delicious.

An opening is imminent for the estate’s newest fine dining experience, helmed by famed restauranteur Michael White.  White, a James Beard finalist for Best Chef of New York City, is tackling here his eleventh restaurant, which will be named Campagna at the Bedford Post Inn, and complements the site’s more casual offerings at The Barn.

“He makes you feel like you’re sitting in a small village in Tuscany, eating food made by someone’s Italian grandmother,” gushed Gere speaking with Harper’s Bazaar.

We’ll suggest you seek out White’s pasta with mushroom dishes, as those were, apparently, what made him a must-have for the Inn.  Gere, a piner for porcinis and portobellos, was set on having White after their first meeting involved morels on the menu.

Campagna at the Bedford Post Inn will highlight local seasonal ingredients for its Contemporary American offerings, matched by an extensive wine list.  Reservations will be taken up to one month in advance.
